Interactive R custom visuals support is here!

R is a strong and popular language, enabling developers to create great analytics on data, as well as visualization. Developers can already create R custom visuals that plugs into Power BI reports, to enable report authors to use those custom visuals without known R. This is a powerful capability to extend the visualizations of Power BI. We are proud to announce that R custom visuals can now also be interactive, by generating HTML as the visual (instead of the static image that was supported until now), R custom visuals are capable of supporting tooltips and selections.

Power BI Desktop June Feature Summary

Our June release is full of new reporting features, new data connectors, accessibility features, and more. A few highlights of the June release are the addition of data bars to tables and matrices, markers for line charts, new map themes, and a horizontal image slicer. In addition, we are continuing to improve the “Add Column from Example” feature in the Query Editor.

Announcing our incredible lineup of Customer Stories sessions at Microsoft Data Insights Summit

We are very excited to give you a preview of what each of our 18 amazing customers will show you during the Customer Story sessions at the Microsoft Data Insights Summit on June 12 – 13 in Seattle. After much preparation, we’ve boiled down each presentation to 25 minutes with 5-10 minutes of every session focused on demos. We’ve made sure we have depth and breadth of customers across several industries like sports, finance, technology, media, and more with many different capabilities showcased, including Microsoft Power BI, Power BI Mobile, PowerApps, R, Azure Machine Learning, IoT, and more.
